XREAL AURA Enterprise Deployment Gets Early Evaluation Path

VR Expert and Treeview announced a partnership on Wednesday aimed at guiding XREAL AURA enterprise deployment, before the smart glasses reach general availability (Auganix). The two companies say they'll walk organizations through use-case discovery, hardware evaluation, and prototyping for AURA, the optical see-through glasses XREAL built with Google and Qualcomm (Auganix).

XREAL unveiled AURA in June, describing an Android XR device with a global launch confirmed for later in 2026. At the time, the company said it was targeting a wave-one release this fall in the U.S., U.K., Japan, Canada, and South Korea, with additional European markets to follow (XREAL/PR Newswire).

AURA has not yet reached general availability. The VR Expert-Treeview program functions, for now, as a services roadmap: it lays out a path from pilot to deployment without naming enterprise customers, pilot dates, or pricing (Auganix). That distinction is worth holding onto as the rest of the announcement unfolds.

Who covers what in the partnership

VR Expert, an XR hardware and support provider, and Treeview, an enterprise XR development studio founded in 2016, structured the partnership so one relationship spans both sides of an AURA project. VR Expert handles hardware procurement, demonstrations, and support services, according to the announcement; Treeview builds the custom software (Auganix).

Treeview CEO Horacio Torrendell described the split this way in a LinkedIn post: "VR Expert is one of the world's leading XR hardware providers. Treeview is one of the top studios building custom enterprise XR software. Together we cover the full enterprise deployment path: Hardware Procurement and Custom Enterprise XR Applications" (Auganix).

Treeview's enterprise work spans healthcare, manufacturing, retail, energy, education, automotive, and government. The companies said Torrendell was part of the team that won Google's first Android XR hackathon built around AURA, held roughly three months ago (Auganix).

The announcement describes the hardware and software roles, but does not specify who owns warranties, support obligations, or service-level agreements after deployment.

What the XREAL AURA enterprise deployment program covers

The program runs through five stages, according to the companies: use-case discovery and feasibility workshops; access to AURA demonstrations and hardware evaluation through VR Expert; rapid prototyping to test interaction design and user acceptance; custom Android XR and Unity development with cloud and enterprise-system integration; and finally procurement, configuration, logistics, rollout planning, and lifecycle support (Auganix).

VR Expert and Treeview describe the destination as "a structured route from a limited pilot to a repeatable deployment across teams, sites, or regions" (Auganix). In effect, the two companies are offering an early XREAL AURA enterprise rollout path, built before the hardware itself is available to buy.

The companies identify training and guided workflows, design reviews and digital twins, collaboration and expert support, healthcare and life sciences, sales and events, and cultural heritage sites as initial areas for exploration (Auganix). Those are categories of interest the companies plan to pursue, not confirmed projects; the announcement doesn't tie any of them to a specific client.

What the announcement doesn't specify: service-level agreements, device-management support, data handling for the glasses' cameras and sensors, regional coverage, or pricing for the workshops, development work, and lifecycle services.

The hardware behind the pitch

AURA's design explains part of why VR Expert and Treeview are pitching it now. The glasses are a wired, optical see-through pair built by XREAL with Google and Qualcomm, first shown last year under the name Project Aura (Auganix). Processing lives in a separate compute puck rather than in the frames themselves (UploadVR).

That split matters for a workplace device. The puck carries Qualcomm's new Snapdragon Reality Elite chip, while the glasses carry XREAL's own X1S chip, which XREAL says handles core computer-vision tasks locally so camera data doesn't have to stream to the puck over the wire (UploadVR). Keeping heavier compute and battery load off the frames is what lets them stay light: XREAL says the glasses weigh less than 95 grams (XREAL/PR Newswire; UploadVR). For a technician wearing the device through a full shift, that weight distribution, not the chip name, is the detail that decides whether the hardware is tolerable.

The glasses offer a 70-degree diagonal field of view with built-in head and hand tracking, but no face tracking, which rules out avatar-based features that some competing devices support (XREAL/PR Newswire; UploadVR).

Software groundwork, ahead of hardware access

Because AURA runs Android XR, XREAL says millions of existing Android mobile and tablet apps will work through the Play Store on day one. The company has also distributed hundreds of AURA-specific developer kits through its Android XR Catalyst program, with more than 100 apps built specifically for XR already in development (XREAL/PR Newswire).

That activity started before most developers ever touched a headset. Developers can build for AURA using the standard Android XR SDK and an emulator without hardware in hand, according to a report from XR VisionDevCamp Fukuoka (XR VisionDevCamp). Physical developer kits are a narrower path: they began shipping over the summer to a limited first cohort, gated by application through the Catalyst program, with a consumer launch targeted before the end of the year (XR VisionDevCamp). Software groundwork is broad and open. Hardware access, for now, is not.

Two named applications, reported by 9to5Google, illustrate two of the enterprise applications announced for AURA. ShapesXR lets teams sketch environments and storyboard interactions directly in AURA's field of view before writing code. Frontline.io turns CAD models into interactive digital twins so technicians can learn and troubleshoot through the glasses (9to5Google). The program is aimed at XREAL AURA enterprise applications like these, not yet at a proven fleet deployment. Both examples describe announced software availability, not evidence that any enterprise has deployed either tool in production.

Why the rollout remains unproven

XREAL said in June that AURA's final price would not exceed $1,500, without naming a figure. Earlier reporting said battery life had not been finalized (UploadVR).

That same announcement opened reservations XREAL described as fully refundable: a two-week launch promotion offered a $99 deposit worth $199 in purchase credit, and a separate $299 Founder Priority Pass, capped at 2,000 units globally, promised early-batch delivery. XREAL also named Best Buy as its first U.S. retail partner (XREAL/PR Newswire; UploadVR). Whether those specific offers are still running as of this week hasn't been independently verified.

Pricing for VR Expert and Treeview's workshops, custom development, and support tiers hasn't been disclosed either. The partnership announcement doesn't address mobile device management compatibility, data residency, camera-privacy controls, compliance certifications, or support terms by region, details that many IT and procurement teams typically assess before signing off on new hardware.

For now, an organization can identify a candidate workflow, seek a demonstration through VR Expert, and scope a prototype with Treeview before AURA reaches general availability (Auganix). Whether that turns into a working deployment model depends on what comes next: named evaluation customers, published pricing and support terms, and evidence that XREAL's targeted fall launch actually proceeds in those five wave-one markets.
